Henderson receives Main Street grant

Gov. Bev Perdue announced late last week that eight communities, including Henderson, will receive a total of $1.95 million through the state’s Main Street Solutions Fund.

HPD responds to self-inflicted gunshot wound

On May 27, 2010 around 11:00 a.m., officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to 1016 Lehman Street in Henderson, North Carolina in reference to a subject who was shot.

Etheridge to meet with NOAA officials on storms

County commission work session schedule

The Vance County Board of Commissioners will hold the following work sessions next week. All sessions will be held in the Commissioners’ Conference Room located at 122 Young Street in Henderson, North Carolina.

  • Budget Work Session – Tuesday, June 1 – 6:00 p.m.
  • Budget Work Session – Wednesday, June 2 – 6:00 p.m.
  • Technology Study Work Session – Thursday, June 3 – 3:00 p.m.
  • Budget Work Session – Thursday, June 3 – immediately after the 3:00 p.m. work session
  • Copper theft from cell tower

    On May 27, 2010 around 2:52 a.m. an officer of the Henderson Police Department working in his assigned zone received a call to investigate a loud noise in the area of Raleigh Road.

    Purdue urges creation of Mobility Fund

    On Monday, North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue joined mayors and business leaders from across North Carolina in a call for the legislature to invest in the Mobility Fund – to provide a means of keeping North Carolina’s transportation infrastructure up to date.

    Friday/weekend open line

    Any big vacation plans? Our big destination this summer is beautiful Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for my sister’s wedding. Maybe we’ll take a few days at the beach if it isn’t covered in oil by then.
