Etheridge to hold tele-town hall for 2nd District

Filed under: News — Jason Feingold, Ed. @ 12:05 am

Raleigh — U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington), the only North Carolina member on the House Ways and Means Committee, will reach out to more than 30,000 Second Congressional District constituents on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss Congressional efforts to reduce costs and increase access to health care.

The one hour call will enable Congressman Etheridge to hear from constituents about their health care concerns, and update them on health care reform legislation, H.R. 3962, introduced in the House of Representatives on Thursday. The legislation is designed to provide quality, affordable, health care choices to all Americans, while helping restore America’s overall economy and the financial security of working families. A vote on the bill is likely to occur next week.

Second Congressional District citizens who want to participate in the call can sign-up by visiting the Congressman’s Web site. To get on the list you must register by noon Tuesday November 3, 2009.

  1. Poor Congressman Etheridge…scared to hold a face-to-face meeting with constituents. With all this bill entails and all his administration is doing to America, who can blame him?

He and his ilk had better hunker down and plan some graceful concession speeches. Conservative Republicans and Democrats are waking up to what happened a year ago.

Hopefully, the political pendulum will swing right for many, many years to come. Incidentally, it’s appropriate that true conservatives are called right!
