    2. in New Jersey, a very blue state..Chris Christie (R) will be the new Governor. Corzine is out.

in Virginia..R’s sweep..Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General..

still waiting to hear about New York 23..if the Conservative candidate won or the Dem…
      something fishy going on there..

New York City.. Bloomberg keeps mayor’s seat..he spent 100 million in the campaign.

    3. Wow, given that Sam reviews the Dispatch’s content or whatever you all say these days, how did he let that Kittrell mayor article slip through the presses this morning?

    4. Everyone knows that Sam doesn’t get up that early. He has to wait until the maid brings breakfast and coffee or cognac to his bedside.

    5. No matter who won the election, you cannot stop ‘Big Money from making its course. How do you think Raleigh got to where it is today. I’m sure the folks in Raleigh did not want that coming but it DID. You also cannot stop a business from opening up in any part of our county since we have NO zoning at all. The Waffle House is on the way as well as several other businesses. And just think…you same folks who fuss about development are catering to it daily by going to Raleigh and shopping there. Sam Watkins is probably laughing his butt off at you folks.

    6. Uncle Tom,
When your grandparents and my grandparents went outside to the outhouse to relieve themselves, they did their business and then left to go back in the house, where it didn’t smell like pee and crap. Same thing here. People go to Raleigh to shop and enjoy the fast-paced hustle bustle of the city. When they are finished, they come home to where it is “supposed” to be peaceful and quiet. Some people really don’t want big business in Henderson. I don’t really agree with that because big business provides jobs and economic stability. However, these people have a right to their opinion. There are definitely positives with living in a small town. Henderson used to be a nice peaceful small town to live in. It has lost that feel. Go outside on any given evening and you’ll see enough to convince you that we now live in a city full of corruption, greed, crime, and violence.

    7. It could possibly solve the problem for those in West Henderson that are afraid of home invasions if they would move into the vacant houses in Mocassin Bottom or build on the empty lots on top of Flint Hill. I have not heard of a single home invasion in those areas. Property is cheap over here. You can probably buy 8-10 houses with the money you get for yours. Yall come now y’here.

    8. Regarding the comment post above (#7), Ms. Geraldine Champion has asked me to convey that the above comment post was not made by her. While it is the policy of Home in Henderson to neither confirm nor deny the identity of an anonymous comment poster (we are not doing that here, we are merely repeating what we were told), we feel that the above clarification is necessary and appropriate given Ms. Champion’s de facto status as a member of the Henderson community who has taken public stances on issues of concern in the past.
