On Tuesday, December 15, 2009 the Henderson Police Department in conjunction with the Vance County District Attorney’s Office donated forfeited shoes to two local organizations.

These shoes have been seized over the last year in several cases involving the Henderson Police Department’s Operations Division, Highway Traffic Safety Unit (HTSU), Narcotics Unit and the Criminal Investigations Division.

In each of these cases, the items were seized and the individual cases have been processed through the court system. With the assistance of Assistant District Attorney Allison Capps, these items have been turned over to the Henderson Police Department and were distributed to the community by way of the these two organizations.

The shoes were distributed to needy kids within our community by the Vance County Department of Social Services which is currently conducting its Christmas Outreach Program. The Masonic Home for Children in Oxford was also given shoes to be distributed to its current students.

If it is true that Pulley is going to run for sheriff, this is the kind of leadership that Vance County needs! I heard that all of the goods given to the kids were seized by the guys that are under the direct command of Lt. Pulley. What a great thing to do during the holidays! Keep up the good work HPD! Pulley for sheriff 2010!
