Arrest made for murder of Jamario Neal


On September 24, 2010 around 11:00 p.m. officers with the Henderson Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to The Variety and Tobacco Mart located on E. Andrews Avenue in Henderson, North Carolina in reference to a subject who had allegedly been shot.

Officers arrived on scene to find Jamario Neal, 19, of Henderson, North Carolina lying face down on the ground with injuries related to a gunshot wound.

Neal was transported by Vance County EMS to a local hospital for treatment. Shortly after arrival at the hospital, Neal was pronounced dead.

After further investigation conducted by members of the Henderson Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, Juan Antwon Miles of 707 Champion Street in Henderson, North Carolina was taken into custody and charged with first degree murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.

He is being held in the Vance County Jail without the privilege of bond.
