Children’s author delights with Furry Tails

Children’s author Tristan Perry reads Furry Tails
New children’s author Tristan Perry brought furry tails, and tales, to the H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library Tuesday, February 20, to the delight of Vance County children and adults.
(A big thank you not only to the 42 kids and parents who attended but especially to City Council members Elissa Yount and Mary Emma Evans for supporting this landmark event.)
Though authors often come as part of adult programs at Perry Library, Tristan Perry is the first children’s author to provide a program in nearly ten years.
Perry introduced her first chapter book for children, The Adventures of Cinnamon Persimmon, by reading a chapter and inviting comments and questions from her eager audience.
This book is the first of a series, aptly named Furry Tails, but assuredly it was the real “furry tails” who were the hits of the evening: Tristan Perry’s own toy poodles, Nutmeg and Mocha, who partly inspired the main character Cinnamon, who is also a toy poodle.

Copies of Perry’s book will be available for checkout at Perry Library (as soon as they come back – they were all snapped up at the reading!)

My aunts poodle ,Sugar, is white. She went blind because of diebeteis. But thank you for visiting us @ Blue Ridge!!!^_^ :)
