County resolves to support sewer line to KJC

The Vance County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to support he efforts of the Economic Development Commission to find state and federal funding to extend a sewer line down US1 South to the Kittrell Job Corps.

Vance County Board of Commissioners Chair Dan Brummitt stated before the vote that he wanted to make it absolutely clear that the project would be seeking state and federal funds and not county funds.

Brummitt also pointed out a problem in the wording of the resolution. He noted that a promise in the resolution for residential service along US1 South may not be possible because the sewer line was likely to be a forced main.

County Manager Jerry Ayscue suggested that the words “to the extent possible” be added. The commission agreed.
